As we previously reported, on August 22 of this year, the week "Innovations in Mining and Metallurgy" started at the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the event, which will last until August 26, large metallurgical complexs operating in the field of mining and metallurgy in Uzbekistan, such as "Almalyk mining and metallurgical complex" JSC, "Navoi mining metallurgical complex" JSC, "Navoi machine-building plant", "Uzmetkombinat" JSC , scientists of scientific research institutions of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education and scientific research institutions of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan participate with their innovative ideas and developments, innovative products.
On the first day of the event, the Deputy Minister of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shahlo Turdigulova noted that the geological, mining, and metallurgical industries now account for 10 percent of the country's gross domestic product. In order to further develop these industries, it was stated that it is necessary to introduce new, modern, innovative and effective technologies into the technological processes of searching for mineral resources, extracting ores, processing, bringing them to the level of finished products.
In the exhibition organized within the framework of the event, new innovative products developed by metallurgical enterprises and scientific developments designed for use in the field of mining and metallurgy, developed by scientists of scientific and research institutes, were presented.
At the same time, within the framework of the exhibition, representatives of the network conducted negotiations with research institutes regarding preliminary contracts and agreement documents. Issues of establishing innovative technologies, export-substitute products using local raw materials, i.e., reagents and equipment used in metallurgy, together with scientists were discussed.
The total cost of mining and metallurgy in 2021-2022 is 31.4 billion by the Ministry of Innovative Development. 21 practical and innovative projects worth soums were financed. During the week, presentations will be held by the executors of the scientific projects funded by the state order for three days.
It should be mentioned that as a result of the introduction of innovative developments into the industry, the production of a number of new types of products was mastered at the Almalyk mining and metallurgical complex. In particular, as a result of many years of research by the scientists of the complex, it was possible to obtain pure palladium metal in 2020, and pure rhenium metal in 2021. Also, in 2022, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex received a copyright for the platinum metal production technology.
Today, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex has obtained the copyright for 7 product production technologies.
Also, as a result of the application of innovation in production, today the complex produces products such as tungsten, molybdenum nanopowders, cobalt oxide, various composite materials, tungsten, molybdenum, copper and nickel alloy targets.
Industry Week continues.
