As we approach the Mining and Metal Workers Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan a number of new facilities are put into operation at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

In particular, yesterday, on May 12, a grand opening ceremony was held for a new subdivision in the crushing and compound department of the copper smelter - the slag crushing section.

The subdivision is designed for crushing and processing of converter slag and reverts of Vanyukov furnace and basic oxygen furnace. Thanks to the new site, additional production of copper and precious metals from man-caused metallurgical waste will be achieved. The crushing and extraction process at this site is highly efficient and low-cost.

Also on the same day, the air distribution station was officially put into operation.

The management of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex has always paid special attention to the social protection of its workers. In particular, in anticipation of the Mining and Metal Workers Day, the opening of canteen No. 14 after the overhaul was a unique gift for the workforce of the copper smelting plant.

Repair work was carried out by the Olmalikmetallurgkurilish Trust, and design work was carried out by the Design Works Department.

In total, over 5,941,565,000 UZ Soums were spent for repair works, including 4,764,379,005 UZ Soums for construction and installation works. Kitchen equipment was purchased in the amount of 1,177,186,496 UZ Soums. These funds were used to carry out finishing, plumbing, fire protection and electrical work on the building. Ventilation system has also been updated. The canteen building has two floors: the first floor can accommodate up to 80 persons at a time, the second floor - up to 180 persons.

The opening ceremonies of these facilities were attended by the management of AMMC, Heroes of Uzbekistan, workers and labor veterans of the plant.

Chairman of the Board of “Almalyk MMC” JSC Abdulla Khursanov: “Recently we’d summarized the activities of “Almalyk MMC” JSC in 2021, according to which all technical and economic indicators included in the Business Plan have been fulfilled. The Complex was also audited in accordance with international and national financial reporting standards. Thus, net revenues from the sale of products actually exceeded the figures established by the Business Plan by 118%, and the profitability of production was 32.2%. The plant also exceeded all of its main 2021 forecasts. The rights and interests of employees are at the heart of all the work we do.
