The Research and Production Association for the Production of Rare Metals and Hard Alloys of AMMC is implementing the investment project “Expansion of the production of high-temperature ceramic products.”
As part of this project, the high-temperature chamber gas-flame furnace with a rolling hearth for firing refractory and acid-resistant products, with a useful working volume of 10 cubic meters, was purchased.
On March 20, 2024, the first launch of the furnace took place in the shop for production of refractory ceramic products.
The kiln accommodates 3 trolleys with fired products, which are loaded mechanically. The furnace is controlled automatically using a computer program based on automated process control systems.
The maximum baking temperature is 1,800 degrees Celsius. During one firing cycle, 3,500 pieces of standard refractory fireclay bricks of SHA5 brand are fired. The fuel for the furnace is natural gas.
During operation of the furnace, heat from exhaust flue gases is recovered, which allows saving natural gas consumption by up to 30% compared to furnaces without this technology.
