New Furnace Launched at AMMC

14 February 2025, 15:48 1565

As part of the technical re-equipment program for the structural divisions of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, the construction of the second line of the rotary kiln was successfully completed at the lime plant.

The grand opening ceremony of the new facility took place on February 14 this year. The management of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, heads of structural divisions, honorary labor veterans and workers of the plant took part in this significant event.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Almalyk” MMC Abdulla Khursanov emphasized the importance of implementing investment projects at the plant and highlighted the key role of the new kiln in the overall production chain. He expressed sincere gratitude to the teams of the plant's structural divisions that took part in the construction of this facility. A. Khursanov also said that construction of a new lime plant in the Jizzakh region will begin in the near future.

During the event, labor veterans and other invited guests also spoke, noting the strategic importance of the new facility for the further development of the plant.

The employees of the plant's divisions who took an active part in the design and construction of the furnace were awarded valuable gifts in recognition of their contribution.

After the official part, the director of the lime plant announced that the furnace was fully ready for launch. Then the furnace was put into operation, and the first product was obtained from it.

As is known, lime is an integral reagent in the ore enrichment process. It is actively used not only in enrichment plants, but also in production processes at the copper smelter and zinc plants of the plant, where it is used for neutralization in the production of sulfuric acid.

With the increase in production capacity at the plant, the need for lime also grows, which is becoming more and more urgent every year. In this regard, the new furnace, built taking into account the expansion of the AMMC capacity, fully satisfies this growing demand. It is noteworthy that the furnace was built exclusively at the expense of the plant's own forces and funds.

It is worth noting that almost all key elements of the furnace were manufactured at the central repair and mechanical plant.

Considering that the plant's demand for lime is 360 tons per day, the launch of the new kiln will fully provide the required production volume. The daily production of lime at the new kiln will be 480 tons, and this figure will reach 85 thousand tons per year.

The new kiln is highly automated and has excellent economic efficiency, which makes it an important element of the plant's modernization. Control over gas and electricity consumption allows minimizing costs and guaranteeing stable product quality. In addition, the kiln is equipped with modern aspiration systems that effectively capture dust generated during the production process.

An equally important result of the launch of the new kiln was the creation of 51 new jobs.
