The construction of a three-track access track of the “Junction” station at the “Kalmakyr” open cut, which was carried out by the Department of Industrial Railway Transport within the framework of the investment project “Development of the “Yoshlik I” deposit”, was recently completed.

The project for construction of this railroad was prepared by specialists of the AMMC Design Works Department.

Construction of the three-track railroad began in the first quarter of 2023. The 4.2 km railroad was built to extend the northern side of the open pit. 8 sets of railroad switches were laid.

According to the project for the construction of the contact network and feeder lines the following works have been completed:

- installation of supporting poles and bases - 133 sets of supporting poles and their bases;

- installation of power and contact wires - 8.5 km.

17.8 billion UZ Soums were allocated for the construction.

Employees of Industrial Railroad Transportation Department and “Olmalikmetallurgkurilish” Group of Companies participated in construction works.

Due to the commissioning of the new railroad, it will be possible to produce an average of 3 million cubic meters of ore in the section of the Kalmakyr open cut where the old railroad was located.
