A number of sites are being built within the investment project "Yoshlik-1", which is recognized as a mega project at the Almalyk mining and metallurgical complex. With the launch of this megaproject, the production capacity will increase, and the demand for emulsion blasting materials, which are important in the technological process, will also increase. The fragmentation of ores and the opening, exploitation, and mining of new steps (the place where mining is directly carried out) creates the basis for efficient operation. Blasting using emulsion explosives is a more cost-effective technical solution.
According to the protocol of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 10, 2019, it was decided to effectively organize the current activities of JSC "Almalyc MMC" and accelerate investment projects. Also, according to the order of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 14, 2019, modernization works are being carried out at the Explosive Materials Plant within the framework of the implementation of the "Yoshlik-1 mine comprehensive development" project. As a result of these modernization works, a new modern production capacity will be built at the factory base.
In order to carry out blasting works at the Kalmoqqir and Yoshlik-1 mines, the new plant is being built, reconstruction of the electricity and water supply systems, steam generator equipment and replacement of the existing emulsion production system are being carried out.
At the moment, the Explosive Materials Factory is operating as part of the Complex. This enterprise supplies emulsion blasting materials to the Kalmoqqir mine.
As mentioned above, within the framework of the investment project "Yoshlik-1 Mine", the construction of a new emulsion blasting materials factory is about to be completed.
Ulugbek Teshaboyev Director of Repair and Installation Factory informed that the construction work of the new plant was started in August 2020, and the plant is expected to be handed over in December 2022. Installation is currently underway.
This plant will be a plant that meets modern standards, will produce products using local components, of universal appearance. The plant uses green energy. For this, a solar photoelectric power station was built, and this station meets the plant's demand for electricity. As a result, both the product cost and the total cost of blasting are reduced.
The digitization policy implemented at the plant will also be implemented at the new plant. This ensures high security, production is carried out without the human factor. Each step is controlled by a monitor.
Another important aspect is cooperation with local manufacturers in providing the new technological production facility with the necessary equipment and facilities. Based on the localization program implemented at the Complex, the complex of technological capacities necessary for the plant was prepared by "TPNSU" LLC. As a result, foreign exchange savings of 2.1 million dollars were achieved compared to the price of these capacities abroad.
Also, another important point is that the need for the production of explosive materials for the blasting operations in Complexd mines is constantly growing, so the need for the necessary chemical components is also increasing.
As a result of these works, the annual production capacity is expected to increase several times. This requires the provision of the necessary amount of chemical reagents, including ammonium nitrate.
Ammonium nitrate is an inorganic chemical used in the production of explosives. Ammonium nitrate was transported from Maksam-Chirchik with the help of tank wagons that were leased from Uzbekneftgaz JSC and were at the end of their service life. In order to increase the demand for chemical reagents, as well as to save foreign exchange funds, the management of the Complex started the production of tank wagons designed for the transportation of ammonium nitrate in cooperation with local manufacturers in Uzbekistan.
At the end of 2021, the railway transport and logistics department and specialists of the repair and installation factory together with representatives of the Andijan Mechanical Plant studied the necessary technical decision for the production of the tank. And in February, 2 tank cars of this type were produced for the first time in Uzbekistan. Currently, a contract has been concluded for the purchase of 7 units of these tank wagons. Also, according to the decision of the management of the Complex, within the framework of the investment project "Yoshlik-1 mine" in the first stage, it is decided to purchase 25 such tank wagons.
In a word, the new explosives production plant will play an important role in the implementation of the Yoshlik-1 mine megaproject.
