Area supplying the factory with process water

29 May 2024, 16:11 681

Each structural unit of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, whether main or auxiliary, is important in the overall production and technological chain of the enterprise.

One of these divisions is the industrial water supply workshop, which supplies the plant’s enterprises with process water. Today there are 7 sections in the workshop structure. The article will discuss the activities of the second section, which supplies the copper concentration plant with process water.

As the head of this site, Khasan Kuchbaev, said, previously process water came from the tailings pond of the MoF. Due to the fact that the operation of this storage facility is currently temporarily suspended, water is drawn from 47 wells. The volume of water used for the technical needs of the MoF is 5000-7000 cubic meters per hour.

To ensure uninterrupted supply of technical water to the MoF, a swimming pool with a capacity of 30,000 cubic meters was repaired. The repair work, which began in 2023, involved the technical means of the departments of automobile and technological transport. This reservoir is important because in the event of an accident, the pumping station of the second section will be able to provide the MOF with process water for 4 hours.

Currently, pump No. 2, brand D4000/95, is undergoing ongoing repairs. This equipment pumps out 4 thousand cubic meters of water per hour to a height of about 100 meters.

In order to provide technical water to the copper concentration plant-3, which is being built as part of the investment project “Development of the Yoshlik I deposit,” 10 new wells will be drilled and pumping equipment will be installed.

Effective energy saving work is also being carried out on the site. In particular, in 2023, solar panels with a capacity of 50 kW were installed on the site.

In addition, the site’s workforce actively participates in the national project “Green Region”. As part of the project, workers planted 10,600 poplar seedlings, 18,000 poplar cuttings and 900 fruit tree seedlings.

Good results were also achieved as part of the work to reduce the cost of process and recycled water. In particular, the industrial water supply workshop, as of January-April 2024, achieved savings in the amount of 1,455,000,000 soums.

Thanks to the conscientious work and professionalism of the site’s employees, the tasks assigned to the team are accomplished, and high production results are noted.
