18 June 2025, 14:30 1599

Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex is actively working to support young people and develop human resources. In order to improve the skills of young specialists and train future managers, an engineering school was created at the enterprise.

This was stated by Azamat Mavlonov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Almalyk MMC” on Youth Policy, during a briefing held at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications.

In 2024 and the past months of 2025, the plant implemented large-scale initiatives in the field of youth policy. This includes the formation of a personnel reserve, the organization of cultural and sports events, educational and social work.

Particular attention is paid to the professional growth of young workers. Professional skills competitions were held, such as "Best Young Mechanic" and "Best Young Enricher", following which the winners were recommended for the personnel reserve. They were assigned mentors from among experienced specialists, continuing the tradition of "Mentor-Student".

As part of the presidential program "One Million Programmers", the competition "Best Young Programmer" was organized.

The engineering school operates on a dual training system (theory and practice 40/60), where 160 engineers and over 1,000 workers improve their skills every year. The training covers the following areas: geology, mining, transport, mine surveying, mineral processing, metallurgy, mechanics, energy and automation.

The plant has become a real educational center where young specialists can develop practical skills and improve their professional level.

In addition, at the initiative of the head of our state, the School of Advanced Engineering is being created at the Almalyk branch of NUST “MISIS” in partnership with the AMMC and the University of Science and Technology. Its goal is to train highly qualified engineering personnel capable of solving the problems of strategic development of the industry of Uzbekistan, including the AMMC itself.

As part of the spiritual and educational work, the idea of "Enlightenment against ignorance" is actively being implemented at the enterprise. "Reading Evenings", competitions and other events aimed at developing the intellectual and cultural potential of young people are held.

In accordance with the first direction of the five initiatives of the President, dedicated to the development of the creative potential of young people, various creative competitions were held at the plant, including the "Iste'dod" ("Talent") competition. Young talents were encouraged by the management.

In order to develop intellectual abilities and meaningful organization of leisure among young people, an intellectual tournament "Zakovat" was held.

Particular attention is paid to issues of gender equality. The "Pearls of the Plant" competition was held among young women working at the plant, and it is also planned to create a "Girls' Academy" aimed at increasing their activity and leadership potential.

Work is being done to prevent crime among young people, protect them from negative influences and create conditions for meaningful leisure. In cooperation with government agencies, the causes of family conflicts and divorces are analyzed, and educational work is being carried out.

To promote a healthy lifestyle, the "Youth Olympiad" is regularly held, which includes 12 sports. More than 3,100 young workers interested in sports took part in the competition.

Particular attention is paid to supporting proactive young specialists: their ideas are developed, assistance is provided in personal and professional growth. Mentors are assigned to talented workers who need support, favorable working conditions are created and a constant dialogue with the management is established. In order to provide social support to young people, the plant provides assistance in obtaining housing on preferential terms in the residential complex “New Uzbekistan” under construction in the town of Almalyk.

In 2025, work in this direction will continue.

New competitions, sports competitions, foreign language training, cultural and educational events are also planned.
