Issues of occupational health and safety are under special control of the management and the Council of the Trade Union of Employees of Almalyk MMC JSC. An example of this was the meeting on the results of work on occupational health and safety for the first half of this year, held on July 12 at the Metallurg Hall of Culture.
The enlarged meeting, chaired by the chief engineer of Almalyk MMC JSC Sergei Larionov, was attended by managers in charge of occupational health and safety, trade union leaders, authorized officers for occupational safety of workshops and departments, chief specialists of the AMMC, representatives of the Trade Union Council, the Almalyk Mining and Technical Inspectorate and other persons in charge.
Deputy chief engineer for occupational health and safety Shukhrat Zhuraev presented an analysis of occupational health and safety status in the workshops and departments of the complex for the first half of this year.
In his speech, the speaker noted the activities that were carried out according to the plan. The activities aimed at improving working conditions and occupational safety as well as preventive activities to prevent industrial injuries. In particular, it was noted that 33 billion 546 million 700 thousand UZS were allocated for the implementation of comprehensive activities in occupational safety of the complex in the second quarter of this year. Including the provision of workers with protective clothing, safety shoes and personal protective equipment, therapeutic and preventive nutrition, carbonated (mineral) salted water. 46.0 million UZS were allocated for advanced training, retraining in another profession, training in occupational safety, training of management personnel in ISO 45001 Occupational Safety and Health, and advanced training in occupational safety for members of the department for control of occupational exposure limits.
During the reporting period, the Department of Occupational Safety and Health conducted 9 audits and 12 prompt special-purpose inspections, where 728 violations of occupational safety and health requirements were revealed, 49% of which are organizational and 51% of a technical nature. Following the results of inspections, 11 orders were issued, and 64 managers and specialists incurred disciplinary liability.
One of the issues on the agenda was the discussion of the topic of occupational health of workers of the enterprise. Including carrying out medical examinations, preventing occupational diseases, viral infections and others. Abdujabbor Tukhtabaev the chief physician of the medical and sanitary unit of AMMC made a report.
During the meeting, tasks in the field of occupational health and safety for the third quarter of 2024 were presented as well. Including strengthening control over the state of occupational health and safety and the prevention of occupational diseases in the structural divisions of the plant. Taking strict measures against employees who have committed violations of occupational health requirements. Ensuring the functioning and improvement of the “Occupational health and safety management system” based on the international standard ISO 45001:2018, as well as preparing for the first Supervisory audit; Completing the translation of documents in the field of occupational health and safety into the state language, based on the Latin script. Continuing work to improve the unified electronic database in the field of occupational health and safety “Occupational health and safety” and “Hazardous production facilities”. Creating an electronic library of regulatory and technical documentation on occupational health and safety. Completion of occupational health and safety briefings based on modern information technologies.
It should be added that the winners and prize-winners of the competitions were rewarded during the meeting: “The best occupational safety specialist”, “The best authorized officer for occupational safety”, “The best nurse”.
Summing up the meeting, the participants were urged to make every effort to improve occupational safety and compliance with standards and requirements of industrial safety.
New technology will improve the economic efficiency.
It is known that adits, crosscuts, drifts, through-cuts and tunnels are horizontal mine workings designed for the development of deposits, that is, for the extraction of minerals from the subsoil.
In order to increase production performance aimed at achieving the mining efficiency, the specialists of the Kyzyl-Olma mine are implementing work-improvement suggestions that reduce the cost of AMMC products while reducing time and significantly reducing material consumption when strengthening walls and ceilings during mining.
In deep mining operations, one of the urgent problems is to increase the intensity of preparatory-development operations, the rate of excavation, and a sharp reduction in the cost of time and materials for consolidation operations.
In recent years, the use of tubular split set friction rock stabilizers (split sets) for bolting the sides and roofs of mine workings in tunnels and mines has become increasingly popular. Indicators for the load-bearing capacity of split set stabilizers make it possible to space out the anchoring grid, increase the installation step of anchors and significantly reduce the cost of one linear meter of mining. So, considering that strengthening one linear meter of the mine costs an average of 8 million UZS, the use of roof bolts has resulting in a halving of costs. In addition, a large amount of manual labor is not required, and most importantly, time is saved.
This year, miners at the Kyzyl-Olma mine, after completing special courses aimed at training in the installation of split set stabilizers, has began to use new technology. This innovation made it possible to increase the production performance of the mine. Since the beginning of the year, mining and development operations has been completed by 109%, sinking operations by 111%, stope and and cutting operations by 109%. The production rate for ore mining over the past 5 months was 108.5%. The content of the first and second metals in the ores mined was 101.5% and 108.7%, respectively.
Such high indicators are the result of the conscientious work of the entire mine team, as well as the introduction of the latest technologies and work-improvement suggestions into production processes.
