01 July 2025, 8:28 12483

On 27 June 2024, at the conference of the labor collective of JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex”, the results of the implementation of the collective agreement for the current year, concluded for the period 2023-2025, were summed up.

The event was held in the format of a video conference. It was attended by the management of the plant, heads of structural divisions, representatives of the Trade Union Council, chairmen of trade union committees and delegates from the labor collective.

At the beginning of the meeting, a report was heard from the management of the plant on how the employer's obligations stipulated by the collective agreement for 2024 were fulfilled.

It was noted that a strategic program is being implemented to strengthen the enterprise's economy, create new production capacities and new jobs. In 2024, all planned forecasts for production, localization, digitalization, export, reduction of production costs and budget payments were successfully fulfilled. All obligations stipulated in the collective agreement were fully fulfilled by the plant.

Active work was also carried out to support the social sphere. The need to update the format and content of competitions held by the trade union, as well as to strengthen interaction between the trade union, the Youth Union, spiritual advisers and women's committees was discussed.

The importance of implementing the priority tasks for 2025 defined by the President of the country was emphasized. Among the key areas are the fulfillment of the goals and objectives of the State Program "Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy", the launch of the 3rd copper processing plant, the acceleration of the construction of the fourth and a new metallurgical plant. A new sulfuric acid shop was also put into operation at the zinc plant, which made it possible to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions into the atmosphere to a minimum.

One of the priorities remains the creation of decent working conditions and the protection of workers' rights. It is important to ensure the effective operation of all social structures of the enterprise in a single vein and to train personnel capable of implementing promising projects within the framework of strategic development.

At the Advanced Engineering School, opened at the Almalyk branch of MISiS, master's students will undergo two years of training and then come to work at the plant, implementing the results of their research in practice. The plant's employees will also study at this school, which will help prepare a new generation of effective managers. Together with the compliance service, the trade union plans to hold thematic events and competitions among employees aimed at increasing their involvement and awareness.

The conference continued with an analysis of the fulfillment of the union's obligations under the collective agreement for 2024. It was announced that on average, 18.6 million UZS were spent per employee per year on the implementation of the agreement's activities. Along with the protection of labor and social rights of workers, active work was carried out to improve their health and organize their recreation. 4,544 people were treated in the plant's sanatorium-preventorium, of which 636 were treated free of charge, under the collective agreement. In addition, 908 vouchers to the sanatoriums of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan were allocated at the expense of the union and social insurance. Including: 185 vouchers to the Appartak sanatorium, 253 to the Yangiyul multidisciplinary cardiology sanatorium and 40 to the Sevarsoy sanatorium. Another 15 employees completed a health improvement course at the Uzbekistan sanatoriums located in Yalta and Kislovodsk (Russia).

To expand the health improvement program, a joint decision was made between the employer and the trade union on the distribution of the cost of vouchers to the Sevarsoy sanatorium on December 11, 2024: 20% of the cost – at the expense of employees (1.9 billion UZS), 15% – at the expense of the trade union budget (1.425 billion UZS), 65% - at the expense of the plant (6.175 billion UZS).

Measures are also envisaged to organize transportation for the delivery of workers and their families to the sanatorium and back.

During the event, representatives of various divisions of the plant – including the Copper Processing Plant-2, the Industrial Railway Transport Department, the Central Repair and Mechanical Plant, the social facilities department, the “Metallurg” Palace of Culture and the sanatorium-preventorium – presented their reports and shared their opinions on the implementation of the collective agreement. Following the conference, the delegates recognized the implementation of the collective agreement in 2024 as satisfactory and made a corresponding decision.
