Peoples’ Friendship Day, which we celebrate on July 30, confirms our desire for a peaceful sky, the opportunity to live, work and make plans, set new goals and achieve them.

This day appeared in the country’s holiday calendar quite recently - in 2021, but already occupies a worthy place in the hearts of the republic’s residents, in its different corners, traditions are born, the basis of which are respect, mutual understanding, tolerance.

This is very important for our country, where 130 nationalities and ethnic groups live, 16 religious denominations operate. In state educational institutions, instruction is conducted in 7 languages, the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan broadcasts its programs in 12 languages. And national cultural centers contribute to the preservation of customs and traditions, the language and culture of each of the diasporas.

Our Constitution stipulates that all citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, regardless of their nationality, language and religion, have equal rights and freedoms. They are provided with all the opportunities to develop their culture, traditions and customs. Evidence of this is the fact that from the first years of independence, an International Cultural Center was created in the young state, which included cultural centers of different nations.

Representatives of 33 nationalities work shoulder to shoulder at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant, combining their efforts to fulfill the tasks set before the plant.

The motto “Only united - we are one people, only together - we are a strong country!”, under which this year the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence will be held, has become another confirmation of tolerance, the desire to maintain peace and stability.

In today’s difficult times, when interethnic and interfaith tensions are increasing in different regions of the world, we, as the most valuable thing, must protect peace, civil harmony in society, educate youth and children on the basis of the high spiritual and moral values of our multinational people.

Let the friendship of peoples become a true need of each of us!
