30 December 2021, 16:56 2182

Dear workers of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, veterans of production, citizens of Almalyk!

The year is coming to an end, which was full of the most important events, and the most significant, important and responsible for all citizens of the country was the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The election results showed that the people of Uzbekistan fully support the course of large-scale reforms, renovation of all spheres of society and the establishment of the New Uzbekistan initiated by the head of state.

The plant’s staff is an active participant in the changes taking place in the country, and the year 2021 was very fruitful and successful for it. The visits of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 29 and December 22 of current year were significant events for each worker of the plant, which determined the direction of further development and the future of AMMC. On July 29, the leader of the country, Shavkat Mirziyoev, gave the start to the construction of the third copper concentrator, carried out within the framework of the implementation of the investment project on the development of the Yoshlik I deposit.

On the eve of the New Year, on December 22, the head of state personally familiarized himself with the implementation of this megaproject, as well as large-scale reforms in the social sphere of the city and their impact on the lives of every resident of Almaty.

Thanks to the constant support and attention of the country’s government, the plant’s workers have been increasing the volume of production from year to year. So, in five years - from 2017 to 2021 - the rate of production growth has increased several times. The volume of industrial production this year is 30.6 trillion soums or 117.1 percent of the forecast, all targets have been achieved. The expected net profit will be 5 trillion 100.2 billion soums, payments to the state budget - 14.2 trillion soums.

The output of the plant’s main product, copper, has increased by 135.0% over the five years and will amount to 148.5 thousand tons this year.

By the end of this year, the growth rate of gold and silver production will be 117.2% and 162.4%, respectively. Also in 2021 90 thousand tons of zinc were produced, 2.2 million tons of Portland cement, 785.3 thousand tons of sulfuric acid.

This year, the complex has set a historical record for exports - 1 billion 100.0 million U.S. dollars, with a forecast of 840 million 398 thousand U.S. dollars.

Extensive work has been done on the localization program. In 2021, products worth 211.5 billion soums were produced. This is 6.3 times higher than five years ago.

Much work has been done on investment projects. The development of the Yoshlik I deposit is being carried out at an accelerated pace. The total volume of excavation work performed is 102 million cubic meters. More than 570 units of equipment for a total amount of more than 415 million U.S. dollars were purchased for mining operations.

As part of the project, work is underway to build new infrastructure facilities necessary for the operation of the field. For example, railroad tracks are laid and stations and workshops for assembling and repairing mining and transportation equipment are built. A power system with a capacity of 650 megawatts is under construction.

The grandiose construction was the erection of the MOF-3. The Russian state development corporation Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs attracted credit funds to the amount of 712 million euros (USD 824.3 million) to finance the construction of this facility on favorable terms without a state guarantee.

At the same time, the reconstruction and modernization stages of AMMC’s main production are being completed, which, along with an increase in equipment productivity, results in savings of fuel and energy resources, improvement of safety and working conditions.

Work continued to further improve the well-being of the plant’s workers. Despite continuing restrictions on the coronavirus pandemic, all obligations under the Collective Bargaining Agreement are being met.

During the year, wages were increased twice for a total of 20 percent, monthly payments to employees for length of service were increased, each employee received a bonus for the year 2020, for the professional holiday - the Day of workers of the mining and metallurgical industry, and for the Independence Day, all women of AMMC received a monetary gift on March 8.

During the summer period the work of all children’s health resorts of AMMC was organized. After the reconstruction, the sanatorium-preventorium in Almalyk began to work, the conditions of treatment and recreation in which meet the highest requirements. The construction of eight 16-story houses, which are being built according to a special project, began for the workers of the plant.

Special attention this year was paid to non-working veterans of the mining and metallurgical industry, for the social protection of which the Council of Veterans of the mining and metallurgical industry was created on the initiative of the head of state.

Today we are facing the enormous tasks set by the head of state for the prospective development of the plant. Thus, the capabilities and production volumes of the copper cluster for advanced processing of copper and production of copper products with high added value will be expanded. There are plans to build two more concentrating plants, a copper smelter and an engineering plant. Particular attention is paid to the integration of science and production, including the involvement of branches of universities operating in Almalyk. New production facilities will require skilled workers and specialists, which is also a high-priority task that has already begun.

Today, work is being carried out in many areas, each of which lays the foundation for our company’s activities now and for many years to come. This also applies to reducing the cost of production, a radical improvement in industrial safety, ensuring safe working conditions in the expanding production at a qualitatively new level.

We have set ambitious tasks that can be solved by our team of professionals. And today I thank all the workers of the plant for their conscientious selfless work, for the contribution of each of you to the common goal!

We are on the threshold of a new year. Each of us associates new dreams and hopes with this time. In the New Year’s Eve days in a somehow special way we believe that our world should become a better, kinder, that happiness and success will certainly come to every home and every family.

May your most cherished dreams come true and may success accompany all your endeavors in the new year! Happy New Year, dear friends! May happiness, peace and prosperity come to you and your families!
