Plant history

The history of the Central Mechanical Repair Plant (CMRP) of JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex” began in 1957. The forging and boiler-welding shops of the CMRP were the first to be put into operation.

Next, the foundry shop was put into operation, and then the mechanical assembly shop of the CMRP. The plant was established to manufacture spare parts, repair units of equipment, motor vehicles and special equipment, restore and manufacture parts with subsequent machining, production of steel, iron and non-ferrous castings, manufacture of welded steel structures and non-standard equipment, ingots of electroslag refining, mining equipment, rubber goods gumming, production of ferromaterials, stone casting and other works for the repair and maintenance needs of the mining and metallurgical complex.

For its many years of production activity, the Central Mechanical Repair Plant has become a powerful production unit of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical complex. The plant is located in the city of Almalyk, the Republic of Uzbekistan in the industrial zone of the southwestern outskirts of the city.

Activity

The plant was established to manufacture spare parts, repair units of equipment, motor vehicles and special equipment, restore and manufacture parts with subsequent machining, production of steel, iron and non-ferrous castings, manufacture of welded steel structures and non-standard equipment, ingots of electroslag refining, mining equipment, rubber goods gumming, production of ferromaterials, stone casting and other works for the repair and maintenance needs of the mining and metallurgical complex. The plant has a total building area of 28,002 sq. m.

The main production shops and sections of the plant are:

• Foundry shop;
• Forging and welding shop;
• Mechanical assembly shop;
• Shop for the repair of vehicles and special equipment.

Foundry shop: The main types of alloys produced by the foundry: steel 110G13L; steel 20L-40L; steel 35HML; gray cast iron grades SCH15 - SCH22; wear-resistant cast iron 300H28N2, non-ferrous alloys, lead-antimony alloy “Gartbley” for sulfuric acid production of copper and zinc plants.

Forging and welding shop: Forging and welding shop is designed for manufacturing of forgings, blanks for further machining, non-standard metal structures, repair of parts by welding and surfacing methods.

Mechanical assembly shop: The shop carries out such works as the production of gears, inside gears, various wheels of pumps, repair of gearboxes and their production, repair and production of spare parts for AMMC rolling stock. The shop also manufactures a large assortment of metalware.

Shop for the repair of vehicles and special equipment: The workshop is intended for the overhaul of heavy vehicles, special equipment, components, equipment components by order of the AMMC enterprises.

The Central Mechanical Repair Plant is also the main executor of the Localization Program at the AMMC.
