As part of the digital transformation in 2023, a number of works were completed at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.
In particular, last year 34 projects were implemented, 12 of which were related to the improvement of business process management systems, 14 - production automation, 8 - automation of the mining and transport complex and infrastructure.
Thanks to the information system of interactive dashboards (BI), the speed of automatic collection and processing of “online” information from production and business processes, as well as various automated systems, increased by 80%. 6 types of paper reports were digitized, which reduced the time for their generation by 3 times.
In accordance with the concept of paperless work (Paperless work) and a unified identification system, the “E-Talon” information system has been introduced at AMMC, within which more than 36 thousand employees are provided with new ID cards. As a result, the amount of paper work has been reduced, and the reporting process now takes less than 7 times less time. More than 20 electronic templates have been created in the “Journals” information system. The system made it possible to maintain 70% of paper logs in electronic form and analyze the data.
The “Learning Management System” software was launched, designed for online training of AMMC employees without leaving their main place of work, more than 250 online courses were created, and employee training costs were reduced by 500 million soums per year.
Also introduced: digital archive (paper consumption reduced by 25%); project management system (analysis and control); local network connection management system (control of more than 5 thousand installations).
In order to automate production processes and use modern information systems, 27 modern digital strain gauge scales were installed at the copper concentrator. This made it possible to achieve an accuracy of measuring the weight of ore in the technological process up to 99.8%. Also, in order to automate the technological process of the seventh monosection, 37 dosing pumps and 5 new reservoirs for reagents were installed, which made it possible to reduce reagent consumption by 5%. In addition, a system for monitoring the ore level in the bunker was introduced, which reduced the idling speed of the mills by 90%, and the extraction of copper from ore increased by 85%.
Also in pilot mode, diagnostic systems for the main devices involved in the technological processes of the copper concentrator (reducing the number of shutdowns by preventing emergency situations) and automation of the water ore process (water saving will amount to 1.8 million cubic meters per year) have been launched.
Together with specialists from Metso-Outotec and Engineering Dobersek, the uninterrupted operation of the control system, instrumentation of the Vanyukov furnace and the sulfuric acid shop of the copper smelter was ensured.
In order to prevent the exceeding of established standards for emissions of harmful substances and gases into the atmosphere, 22 gas analyzers were installed on the territory of plants and factories. As a result, control of environmental emissions has been strengthened and analysis has become possible.
As part of the implementation of automatic mill control (SAU-3M), the instrumentation cabinets at the Khandiza mine have been completely updated. As a result, extraordinary shutdowns were prevented (1 billion soums per year).
As part of the modernization of the control and measuring instruments of boiler No. 5 and turbogenerator No. 3 of the thermal power plant, stable operation of the electricity generation process at 12 MW/h (12 million soums) was ensured.
As part of increasing the efficiency of transport activities and developing infrastructure at the “Kalmakyr” and “Yoshlik I” deposits, the first stage of the mining transport management system was completed. Online collection and processing of information from 54 dump trucks, 20 excavators and 5 drilling rigs has also been established.
In order to increase the efficiency of the management system and digitalization of office work, an information system for the management of motor transport and logistics (Transport Management System) was introduced in the road transport department, through which more than 1,000 units of vehicles and equipment are monitored. As a result of these works, it is expected to increase the efficiency of vehicle operation by 4% and save 6.1 billion soums.
As part of the project to implement a maintenance and repair management system for railway transport, 1,800 RFID tags were installed on more than 540 dump cars. 30 control and RFID tag reading cabinets were installed on the railway tracks, and engineering and technical workers received 77 mobile devices. The introduction of RFID technology for managing the maintenance and repair of railway transport will reduce MRO costs by 10% (or 7.3 billion soums) per year.
As an experiment, the “Antison” (anti-sleep) monitoring system was introduced, which reduced the number of accidents caused by the driver by 50%. Also implemented: a new digital radio station at the “Yoshlik I” quarry (100 vehicles and 40 workers are provided with radio communications); IP telephony in the “Kochbulak”, “Semguron” and “Kayragach” mines (fiber optic communication lines with a length of 10 km have been laid).
In 2023, AMMC saved 224 billion soums as a result of digitalization and optimization of technological and business processes.
