The Almalyk mining and metallurgical complex continues to implement an investment project for the development of the Yoshlik I deposit at an accelerated pace. Since the start of the project, 200.0 million m3 of overburden rock has been stripped during the quarry construction as of september 9 of this year. This year, up to the specified deadline, this figure was 26.0 million m3. To achieve the set objectives, the mine has been organized to operate in 2 shifts, involving 1,800 workers and specialists, as well as 400 units of mining equipment. A 41.63 km long railway has already been laid here to support the work and further transportation.
To carry out the construction of the new mine, 602 units of mining equipment were purchased, of which 54 units were 130-ton and 29 units were 220-ton BelAZ dump trucks. Currently, the mine is equipped with 5 NMT-240 KRANTAS dump trucks with a lifting capacity of 220 tons, 33 excavators, 23 drilling rigs, and 12 mixing and charging machines. 254 units of railway equipment and 192 units of auxiliary equipment provide significant assistance in mining operations.
More than 5.9 million m3 of excavation work was performed for the construction of a cyclic-flow conveyor (CFC-rock) for transporting 20 million m3 of waste rock per year.
In addition, more than 2.5 million m3 of excavation work (a total 5.0 million m3) was carried out to prepare the site for the construction of a cyclic-flow conveyor (CFC-ore), which will deliver 65 million tons of ore per year to Copper concentrator Plant No. 3.
TP-8 Substation, which supplies electricity to the process equipment of the CPT, has been built and put into operation. Currently, the construction of 110 kV TP-9 substation for railway transport is underway. Its commissioning is scheduled for December of this year.
Currently, as part of the development of the Yoshlik I deposit and the construction of copper processing plant No. 3, the mine is fully prepared for the extraction of 60 million tons of ore per year. Today, the mine has the following dimensions: length - 3.7 km, width - 2.3 km, depth - 220 meters.
The CPT conveyor, 4.2 km long, will deliver finished ore to the raw material warehouse of the plant. One of the distinctive features of this conveyor line is that, depending on the terrain, it reaches a height of 44 meters. The speed of ore transportation along the conveyor line is 4 meters per second. The implementation of this system will reduce the cost of ore transportation by at least 30 percent.
New technologies, a modern approach to construction and organization of the process chain indicate that all the most relevant developments to date were taken into account during the design and construction of the facilities of this investment project, and that at the end of its implementation, modern enterprises will be put into operation that fully justify the hopes and prospects associated with them.
