On July 16, 2024, a diploma award ceremony was held for graduates of the Almalyk branch of NRTU “MISiS” in the Metallurg Palace of Culture.
The Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilya Matveyev, Advisor to the Minister of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Youth Issues Mirzabek Khasanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC Almalyk MMC for Personnel and Social Issues Sadi Shermatov, Director of the ALMALYK BRANCH OF NRTU “MISiS” Farkhodbek Umarov, as well as representatives of the branch's business partners, who took part in the diploma award ceremony, congratulated the graduates on the successful completion of their studies.
A welcoming message from the Rector of NRTU “MISiS” Alevtina Chernikova was also read during the event.
70 bachelors received “MISiS” diplomas in the field of metallurgy and automation of technological processes and production, of which 13 students received diplomas with honors. Most of the graduates are already employed in the leading mining and metallurgical enterprises of Uzbekistan, about 30% of them will continue their education in the university's master's program in Russia.
A group of students expressed words of gratitude to their mentors and teachers, as well as the management of AMMC for their support.
For reference: The Almalyk branch of NRTU “MISiS” was established in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the organization of activities of the Branch of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education National Research Technological University “MISiS” in the city of Almalyk" No. PP-3714 dated May 11, 2018.
The main objective of the Branch is to train highly qualified specialists with higher education for the metallurgical industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, expand international cooperation in the field of higher technical education, as well as create research centers and laboratories for fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of metallurgy and mining in accordance with the requests of key business partners.
Starting from the 2024-2025 academic year, in addition to the existing two bachelor's degree programs "Metallurgy", "Automation of production processes and production", and a specialist in "Mining", recruitment has been announced for 2 more popular and relevant specialties: "Information Technology" and "Economics", in the future by the next academic year - 2 more directions, including "Energy".
