This year, a new subdivision appeared in the industrial railway transport department of AMMC - the supervisory control and data acquisition system service (SCADA).
Otabek Rakhmanov, Acting Head of the SCADA service, talks about the activities of this production area:
- In connection with the great attention paid by the country’s leadership to the issues of digitalization, automation and digital transformation, it has been repeatedly noted in the speeches of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan that one of the priority tasks of consistent socio-economic development of the country is the widespread introduction of information and digital technologies. And it is digital technology - an effective tool that can provide quality reform of sectors of the economy and spheres of public life.
Continuing work on the development of ICT the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On approval of the “Digital Uzbekistan - 2030” Strategy and measures for its effective implementation” was issued. Based on this decree AMMC had implemented a concept “Digital AMMC-2030”, aimed at introducing digital technologies in all areas of AMMC activities, improving the efficiency of business and production processes, rational use of fuel and energy resources, minimizing paperwork and reducing the cost of production.
As part of this concept, the SCADA Service was created in February of this year.
The main task of the service is digitalization and automation of the production and technological process in the shops and divisions of the Rail Transport Management.
To date about 3.5 km of fiber-optic cable and 6 km of twisted pair copper cable have been installed in the shops and services of the Rail Transport Management for the development of data transmission networks. This increased efficiency in solving of production tasks and reduced the amount of paperwork, since the Rail Transport Management facilities are located in different parts of the town.
Also, to monitor technological processes for loading / unloading and transportation of rock mass, compliance with safety rules and regulations, internal labor regulations in the shops and services of Rail Transport Management, as well as in the areas of loading and unloading of ore, 48 video surveillance cameras were installed.
The following information systems have been implemented and are used to monitor technological processes:
“Wialon Local” information system (GPS monitoring). It is used to control the location, direction and speed of the rolling stock, refueling, fuel consumption and discharges. The system also allows you to track the location and direction of travel, keep track of engine oil changes, batteries.
System of optimization of copper ore supply from open pits to a copper concentrator (Mirror-1) - visualizes the process of copper ore transportation from open pits to a copper concentrator and keeps record of equipment downtime, including trucks and railroad transport, based on modern information technology. Thanks to this system, it is possible to monitor the position of “Kalmakyr” mining administration, “Sary-Chek”, Railway Shop-1 of Rail Transport Management, Copper Concentration Plant for operational decision-making in the transportation of rock mass.
The “Express cargo” IS monitors cargoes arriving by rail to AMMC from “Akhangaran” station of UTY to make operational decisions of production nature. Through this system, operational control and analysis of arriving cargo and cars, reports on the idle time of leased cars, plus - the system allows to reduce the number of penalties for idle cars.
The system of optimization of gravel and sand mix delivery from Sharhia open pit to the united tailings storage of the Copper Concentration Plant - visualizes the process of transportation of gravel and sand mix from Sharhia open pit by railway and motor transport, provides operational control and analysis of gravel and sand mix delivery.
IS “Railway Transport Monitoring” - RMS. This railway transport monitoring system (Railway Monitoring System) is a development of Rail Transport Management specialists and is designed for conditioning of the rolling stock of our enterprise and submission of electronic application for railway and tractor equipment by shops and services, as well as by departments of AMMC to reduce paperwork.
To date, the service is facing a number of challenges. Deputy Chairman of the Board of “Almalyk MMC” JSC A. Azizov approved the action plan for the implementation of automation systems, information technology and digitalization on the Rail Transport Management for 2022. The highest priority tasks are the implementation of the Automated System for Planning, Control and Accounting for Rolling Stock Maintenance and Repair, construction of computer-based interlocking (CIL) and the electronic axle counting system (EAS) at Kalmakir, Koltsevaya stations and on the line “Kalmakir Station - Koltsevaya Station”, development of the data transmission network at the Rail Transport Management production areas, advanced training of Rail Transport Management employees in the field of information technology, automation and digital transformation.
Implementation of these tasks will increase the reliability of signals and interlocking network, accelerate the process of train traffic control, improve quality control of maintenance and repairs, reduce unscheduled repairs and costs associated with unscheduled repairs, and ensure stable and safe train traffic.
Digital technology is the main key to the consistent development of any enterprise, allowing for a qualitative leap in many aspects of labor activity. And the tasks set before the SCADA service are aimed at achieving of the main goal - to join the ranks of companies that use modern information technology in their activities. On the way to achieving this goal in the service of SCADA are working craft professionals - the lead engineer for digitalization Albert Agaev, GPS electrician Temur Mamatkulov, a leading programming engineer, a 4th year student of the Tashkent University of Information Technology Toshpulat Turakulov.
We wish professional development and success to the new service team.
