Pursuant to the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 30, 2018 “On measures for the reconstruction and stabilization of production facilities of Almalyk MMC JSC”, the implementation of a program providing for the replacement of basic process equipment, technical re-equipment of workshops and divisions continues.

The reconstruction and modernization of the production capacity of the copper concentration plant, one of the main structural divisions of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex in particular, is currently underway.

Thus, in accordance with the program, in January 2024, new high-speed thickeners No. 13 and No. 14 of the SG-30 brand to be used in dehydration process of copper concentrate were put into operation in copper-molybdenum concentrate selection and drying shop, which is the final link in the process chain of the copper concentration plant. Thickeners have a central drive and separate stations for reagent preparation and supply.

The installation of these thickeners makes it possible not only to reduce the number of equipment actually used, but also to meet the established target concentration density for the thickening process within the same rate. The efficiency of filtration processes is improved as well. These devices are the main and control thickeners that dehydrate the concentrate obtained during the bulk flotation process.

The introduction of new high-speed thickeners No. 13 and No. 14 in dehydration processes will improve the quality of concentrates, as well as purify circulating water and ensure its reuse.

New thickeners, special equipment for the hydrometallurgical process of concentration of non-ferrous metal ores, designed for thickening and desliming pulps and suspensions, are being prepared for installation at the copper concentration plant for a better thickening process.

Eraliev Davron - Acting head of the operation and technical department of the plant: “Thickeners have a number of advantages: equipment with higher productivity is fully automated; the processes of supplying flocculants, determining the level and volume of water during thickening have been digitized; The purity of the water involved in the thickening process is indicated by sensors.

Modernization activity at the factory will continue this year. Thus, during the crushing process, it is planned to switch to Warman pumps. It is also planned to install centrifugal concentrators in the grinding process, which are used for gravitational extraction of gold from concentrate. In addition, reconstruction works have been carried out in mono-sections No. 1, 2, where the installation of new flotation machines is provided. For information: flotation mono-sections No. 7 and No. 5a have been reconstructed and put into operation.

The reconstruction and modernization works to be carried out at the Copper Concentration Plant (MOF) will undoubtedly ensure an increase in the process indicators of the concentration of copper-molybdenum ores.
