Issues of labor protection and industrial safety are under – the special control of the management and the Trade Union Council of JSC “Almalyk MMC”
The results of the work carried out at AMMC in the field of labor protection and industrial safety for the third quarter of 2024 were discussed during a meeting held in the “Metallurg” Palace of Culture on October 29
The meeting was attended by heads of AMMC departments, persons responsible for labor protection and industrial safety, trade union leaders, labor protection representatives, chief specialists of AMMC, representatives of the Trade Union Council, representatives of the Inspectorate for Control of Mining, Geological and Industrial Safety and other responsible persons.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Board - Chief Engineer of JSC Almalyk MMC Sergey Larionov, who noted that the AMMC is carrying out systematic work to ensure safe working conditions, in particular: providing PPE, medical and preventive measures, preventive medical examinations, advanced training, retraining and improving knowledge in the field of industrial safety, as well as systematic monitoring of the state of labor protection in the workplace and at production facilities. But despite the work done in the field of labor protection, in September of this year there were 4 accidents, including fatal ones in DTT. An analysis of accidents shows that basically all accidents occurred due to insufficient organization of technical and organizational measures at workplaces on the part of managers and line engineering and technical workers or due to the personal carelessness of the victims, who were in the danger zone or did not comply with the basic requirements of their instructions.
A report on the results of work in the field of labor protection and industrial safety at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex in the third quarter of 2024 was presented by Deputy Chief Engineer for Labor Protection and Industrial Safety Shukhrat Juraev.
The report noted that 34 trillion 060 million 600 thousand soums (34,060.6 million soums) were spent on the implementation of comprehensive measures to ensure labor safety at the plant in the third quarter of this year.
Periodic medical examinations of 11,066 employees were conducted, including 1,502 women.
1,511 employees received advanced training. 438 employees were retrained in another profession. 52 engineering and technical personnel received industrial safety training.
During the reporting period, the Occupational Health and Safety Department conducted 8 audits and 16 operational and targeted inspections to improve working conditions and ensure industrial safety, while 838 violations of labor safety and industrial safety requirements were identified, 49% of which were organizational and 51% technical.
In September of this year, the plant issued an order to introduce the maintenance of electronic logs of 1 and 2 levels of control in all structural divisions of the Complex.
In the third quarter of 2024, 4 accidents were committed at the Complex, including 3 with a serious outcome, 1 with a fatal outcome.
A register of the main professions with a high risk of exposure has been formed, 55 instructional videos for these professions have been developed using advanced information technologies.
The international company CERT International conducted the first surveillance audit of the occupational health and safety management system ISO 45001:2018, during which no non-conformities were found.
The second item on the agenda, together with the Inspectorate for Control of Mining, Geological and Industrial Safety, was the analysis of the causes of accidents that occurred at the Complex in the third quarter of 2024.
Also, reports were made by responsible persons of the technological transport department, copper concentrator and Angren mine administration.
Also during the meeting, tasks for the fourth quarter of 2024 in the field of occupational safety and health were discussed.
Including strengthening control over the state of labor protection, industrial safety and prevention of occupational diseases in the structural divisions of the Complex. Taking strict measures against employees who violated safety requirements.
- Ensuring increased efficiency of inspections carried out by the Occupational Safety and Health Department of the executive office and Occupational Safety and Health of the structural divisions of the Complex.
- Conducting certification of workplaces for working conditions and equipment injury hazard in the divisions of Complex.
At the end of the meeting, Sergey Larionov, in order to prevent injuries and occupational diseases, called on responsible persons to draw appropriate conclusions. The main task of the entire workforce of the Complex is to fulfill the annual plan, but at the same time to prevent accidents until the end of the current year and in the future.
