The Specialised repair works department (SRWD) is an independent production unit within the JSC “Almalyk MMC”.

SRWD was formed from 5 sections within the “Olmalikmetallurgkurilish” Department during the reorganisation of the above-mentioned department into the “Olmalikmetallurgkurilish” Trust in March 2007, and in January 2009 SRWD separated from “Olmalikmetallurgkurilish” Trust as an independent production unit of JSC “Almalyk MMC”. From 2009 to 2017, SRWD went through 4 stages of expansion with the addition of new production sections No. 6, No. 7, No. 8.

The SRWD is focused on major and current repairs of process equipment, pipelines, metal structures of lifting machines, manufacturing and repair of gas cleaning and ventilation equipment, repair of buildings, structures, chemical protection work, manufacturing of reinforced concrete products, assembly and installation of process equipment and metal structures.

General information about the production areas of the SPWD

Specialized section for repair and installation works No. 1

Specialized section for repair and installation works No. 1 carries out major and current repairs of process equipment and pipelines in the following shops of JSC “Almalyk MMC”:

Copper Concentrator: Repair of conveyors in all workshops of the factory; repair of flotation machines of all designs in Grinding and flotation shop, Crushing and processing complex-2, Shop of selection and drying OF "Cu - Mo" concentrate; repair of mills and screens Grinding and flotation shop; repair of mills, classifiers, hydrocyclones; repair of thickeners, vacuum filters, drying drums and contact tanks in Shop of selection and drying OF "Cu - Mo" concentrate. The section also carries out repairs of all standard sizes of process pipelines, metal structures and non-standard equipment of the processing plant.

Copper smelter: Repair of conveyors of the metallurgical shop, repair of mills of the quartz crushing shop; repair of flues, contact apparatus, heat exchangers, monohydrate and drying towers of the Sulfuric acid shop.

Zinc smelter: Repair of drying drums and kilning kilns of the Kilning shop, repair of reactors in the leaching shop, repair of cold electrolyte tanks in the electrolyte shop; repair of flues, contact apparatus, heat exchangers, monohydrate and drying towers of the Sulfuric acid shop.

Lime plant: Repair of jaw and cone crushers; repair of the calcination furnace, repair of conveyors, repair of metal structures.

The Specialized Section for Repair and Installation Works No. 1 includes the Corundum Shop, which produces an abrasive coating for the volutes of pumps and hydrocyclones of the shops of JSC “Almalyk MMC” to improve wear resistance and extend service life.

Specialized Section for Inspection and Repair of Metal Structures and Lifting Mechanisms No. 2

Specialized Section for Inspection and Repair of Metal Structures and Lifting Mechanisms No. 2 performs major and routine repairs of critical structures of crane tracks, crane tracks and equipment, supporting structures of lifting mechanisms in all shops of JSC “Almalyk MMC”. In addition, the section takes an active part in all repair works related to welding of important structures; assembles and repairs bodies of heavy-duty BelAZ dump trucks with a capacity of 130 tons.

Specialized section for repair of gas cleaning and ventilation equipment No. 3

Specialized section for repair of gas cleaning, ventilation equipment No. 3 performs: major and current repairs of gas cleaning, aspiration and ventilation equipment in all workshops of JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex”, as well as the manufacture of air ducts and small metal structures:

Copper Concentrator: Repair of ventilation and aspiration systems in the workshops of Crushing plant-1, Crushing and processing complex-2, Grinding and flotation shop, Shop of selection and drying OF "Cu - Mo" concentrate, including inspection and repair of fans and smoke exhausters.

Copper smelter: Repair of smoke exhausters, blowers, flues, filters of all designs in the metallurgical and sulfuric acid shops; repair of ventilation systems of the Gold and silver refining workshops, repair of in-plant pipelines.

Copper concentrator-2: Repair of aspiration and ventilation systems in the crushing shop and in the main building, repair of metal structures of the main building.

Zinc smelter: Repair of electric filters, smoke exhausters, fans; repair of ventilation systems in the roasting shop, waelz shop, electrolyte shop, cadmium shop and leaching shop.

According to the localization program, in 2015, the repair and mechanical workshop of section No. 3 mastered the production of centrifugal and axial fans for the needs of the Complex.

Site for the repair of buildings and structures No. 4

Site for major repairs of buildings, structures and chemical protection works No. 4 carries out major and current repairs of buildings and structures, general construction, chemical protection, anti-corrosion works in the following shops of JSC “Almalyk MMC”:

Copper Concentrator: Repair of buildings and structures; coating equipment surfaces with anti-corrosion compounds or lining with wear-resistant slabs in Grinding and flotation shop,  Shop of selection and drying OF "Cu - Mo" concentrate,; installation and dismantling of scaffolding for repair work, pasting equipment with wear-resistant rubber, painting work, general construction work.

Copper smelter: Repair of buildings and structures; chemical protection and anti-corrosion works: pasting with polyisobutylene and lining with acid-proof brick, sandblasting and painting in all workshops of the plant; thermal insulation of equipment in the metallurgical and sulfuric acid shops, installation and dismantling of scaffolding for repair work, general construction work.

Zinc smelter: Repair of buildings and structures; chemical protection and anti-corrosion works: pasting with polyisobutylene and lining with acid-proof brick, sandblasting and painting in all workshops of the plant; thermal insulation of pipelines and equipment, installation and dismantling of scaffolding for repair works, general construction works in the roasting, sulfuric acid, cadmium, electrolyte shops, waelz shop and leaching shop.

Copper concentrator plant-2: Repair of buildings, structures and anti-corrosion work in the crushing shop and the main building, general construction work.

General construction work on social and cultural facilities: preschool educational institutions, assigned makhallas of the city, parks, assigned streets, boarding school No. 80 in Almalyk, children’s health camps, sanatoriums of the plant.

Section for the manufacture of reinforced concrete structures and repair of process equipment No. 5 (Angren)

Section for the manufacture of reinforced concrete structures and repair of process equipment No. 5 (Angren) manufactures precast reinforced concrete ties for mines, channel slabs, ready-mixed concrete for the shops of the Angren Mining Administration of the Complex; the section also carries out major and current repairs of the equipment of the Angren gold mining factory.

Section for the repair of thermal power equipment No. 6

Section for the repair of thermal power equipment No. 6 carries out major and current repairs of thermal power equipment and pipelines in the following shops of JSC “Almalyk MMC”:

Copper Concentrator: Repair of oil coolers, gas pipelines, receivers, vacuum lines, compressed air ducts, repair and replacement of process water and pulp pipelines.

Copper smelter: Repair of converters, anode furnaces, waste heat boilers, cooling pipelines, steam pipelines, gas pipelines of the metallurgical shop; oxygen pipelines, air ducts, compressors of the central heating system; gas ducts, heat exchangers of the sulfuric acid shop.

Zinc smelter: Repair of heat exchangers, waste heat boilers, air deaerators, steam pipelines, gas pipelines.

Heat and power plant: Repair of boiler units, turbogenerators, atmospheric deaerators DSA-150, network water heaters.

At site No. 6, the manufacture and repair of some types of shell-and-tube heat exchangers for the needs of the Complex has been mastered.

Construction and installation site No. 7

Construction and installation site No. 7 was created in accordance with order No. 375 dated 11.07.2012 for JSC “Almalyk MMC” for the purpose of performing construction and installation works on capital construction of the Complex facilities.

Construction and installation site No. 7 carries out work on the installation of building structures and process equipment at the facilities of the Capital construction department AMMC. In the absence of work volumes for Capital construction department, it participates in current and major repairs of equipment, installation of metal structures in the shops of JSC Almalyk MMC. The site took an active part in the construction of the following objects:

Copper smelter. Construction of a new sulfuric acid plant SK-4.

Construction of the Angren Pipe Plant.

Copper smelter. Construction of high-speed thickener C-28.

Central repair and mechanical works. . Construction of electroslag remelting (ESR) and mining equipment repair (MER) department.

Construction of a new stadium for 10-12 thousand seats in the city of Almalyk.

Copper concentrator. Reconstruction of the crushing and flotation department with the installation of 2 additional mills in Crushing and processing complex-2.

Reconstruction of the crushing and grinding departments of the CC.

Involvement in the development of off-balance waste ores of the Kalmakyr deposit at CCP-2.

Copper Concentrator. Reconstruction of the section for filtration and drying of copper and gold-bearing concentrates with the installation of press filters.

Angren mine Management. Reconstruction of the section for filtration and drying of copper and gold-bearing concentrates.

Section for assembly and installation of process equipment No. 8

Site No. 8 was created in accordance with order No. 239 dated 31.03.2017 by JSC “Almalyk MMC” for the purpose of performing work on the assembly and installation of incoming process equipment for the development of the deposits “Yoshlik-1” and “Yoshlik-2”.

Site No. 8 performs work on the assembly of EKG-10 and EKG-15 quarry excavators, SBSh-250 drilling rigs, BelAZ-75131 dump truck bodies with a capacity of 130 tons for the development of the “Yoshlik-1” deposit and the “Expansion of Production Capacities of Kalmakyr”.

Small mechanization section (SMS)

The Small mechanization section (SMS) is a separate independent section within the Specialized repair work department.

SMS provides the SRWD sections with machines and mechanisms during repair work in the shops of JSC “Almalyk MMC” and carries out repairs of mechanisms on the balance sheet of the SRWD. SMS also provides the Complex divisions with overhead cranes according to requests and production needs.
