The first phase of the “Yoshlik I” deposit development project, implemented to expand the production of non-ferrous and precious metals based on the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) deposits, plays an important role in strengthening Uzbekistan’s industrial potential. Within this phase, the Copper Concentrator Plant-3 was constructed — one of the largest technologically equipped facilities not only in Uzbekistan but across the region. Notably, the installation of the modern NCF-72724712-FL3 recirculating water-cooling tower system stands out as a crucial solution for enhancing production efficiency and resource savings.
As is well known, extensive digitalization initiatives across enterprises of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex are leading to higher labor productivity. Currently, as part of this digital transformation, the Complex is nearing completion of the implementation of a comprehensive automated mine and transportation management system.
The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) has maintained long-standing and successful cooperation with leading Finnish companies. As part of these partnership efforts, on 15 September, the Ambassador of Finland to Uzbekistan, H.E. Ilkka Räisänen, paid an official visit to the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex. During the meeting between the AMMC leadership and the Ambassador, the parties discussed ways to further develop bilateral cooperation. The sides exchanged views on joint work carried out in collaboration with the Finnish company “EPSE OY”. They also shared opinions on potential future projects and expressed mutual interest in strengthening cooperation. It was agreed to continue developing bilateral partnership in mutually beneficial directions. For reference: Earlier in 2025, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, together with the Agency for Innovative Development and Finland’s “EPSE OY”, launched a pilot water treatment project at the “Koch-Bulak” mine of the Angren Mining Administration. As part of the project, a pilot system was installed and commissioned at the mine’s chemical water treatment facility. Samples of alkaline underground water from the Koch-Bulak mine, as well as water from the Copper-Smelting Plant and Zinc Plant, were tested using EPSE-1010 reagent and a CaCO₃ (calcium carbonate) lime milk mixture. In addition, within the framework of the “Yoshlik I” copper deposit development investment project, AMMC continues its cooperation with Metso Outotec during the expansion of copper smelting capacities. Currently, as part of the “Yoshlik I” mine development investment project, preparatory works are being carried out at an accelerated pace. Due to the expansion of the mine, it has been decided to relocate the existing industrial service area—where bulldozers, BelAZ haul trucks, loading equipment, and other heavy mining machinery at the “Kalmakyr” mine are maintained—to a new location, and practical work has already begun.
As a key driver of modern industrial development, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) continues not only to expand its production capabilities but also to strengthen its position through multi-sectoral international partnerships. Against the backdrop of ongoing technological modernization, the Complex is actively engaging in mutually beneficial cooperation with leading global companies.
Located in Surkhandarya region, the Khonjiza Mining Administration is one of the youngest enterprises under the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC). Its history began in 2007 with the construction of an underground mine and a plant specializing in the production of zinc, lead, and copper concentrates. By 2009, the total area of the administration had reached 128 hectares, and extraction of ore from the Khonjiza shaft began the same year. Mining operations were established using sublevel caving and chamber-and-pillar systems.
Yesterday, another preventive event titled “Enlightenment Against Ignorance” was organized among the employees of the Zinc Plant.
At “Almalyk Metallurgical Construction” trust, regular communication between management and employees has become an established practice.
Today, environmental protection, the expansion of green areas, and the promotion of ecological sustainability have become key priorities in our country. Among the wide-ranging national projects being implemented across Uzbekistan, the meaningful environmental initiatives carried out by the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) deserve special recognition.
As is well known, fish are being raised for the employees of the combine at the “Kizil-oy” recreation area of the Consumer Goods Production Department.
It is well known that within the framework of the “Green Space” project, polyethylene pipes are widely used for drip irrigation of trees planted in the gardens established by the structural divisions of AMMC.
